For example, we were able to preserve the original wood floors while renovating a home originally built in 1834 by carefully removing the existing flooring, reframing the floor joists, and reinstalling the original floor.

Owner Ed Peterson was trained in New York City and completed 4 years of night school and a 4-year apprenticeship to become a New York State-certified carpenter.

My husband and I had a renovation and addition done on our house by Peterson Home Improvement. We had concerns about who we chose to be the contractor due to previous work we had done by other contractors where they didn't show up, and the work was done in a less than acceptable manner, and took a very long time to complete.

Highly recommend. Peterson Construction remodeled a 60-year-old kitchen and bathroom in my 150-year-old house. It was a big job - at least it felt that way to me. Ed and Jean were fantastic to work with. They were reliable and accessible and always returned phone calls and texts. Ed was incredibly knowledgeable, provided detailed and reasonable estimates, and gave great suggestions about the job and other professionals to work with.
The crew he sent me, Glenn and Lewis, were wonderful as well - highly skilled, smart, knowledgeable and patient. They even got along with my dog and cat, and my cat doesn't get along with anybody. Planning to use them again on another project next year - need to recover from this one first.

I highly recommend Peterson Home Improvements! I have an older barn that needed a bunch of work done - new kitchen, updating bathrooms, reinforcing the original structure, flooring, new windows, and more. I worked with Ed to get the project started and he was great to work with on what to expect and project timelines. He regularly checks in on how things are going as well. Joe and Matt were a pleasure to work with for the day to day work that was completed.
They worked with electricians, plumbers, etc and coordinated all the work that needed to get done. They've always been great to work with and with such a large project in the main area of my home, they cleaned up every day making it comfortable for us. Would definitely work with them again and plan to on an addition in the future!

We are currently having a renovation of the main floor of our house with the majority of the work in the kitchen. So far we have been very happy with the work that has been done in the kitchen and the hardwood floor installation. Joe and Matt (who are onsite). have been very professional and helpful in each step of the process, have provided guidance in helping us make decisions regarding different aspects of the renovation that were not considered during the design and planning phase. We are a few weeks away from the completion of the project but so far they have been doing a good job. Thank you to Ed, Joe and Matt for working with us on this project.

Locally owned and operated by Ed and Jean Peterson and highly recommended. I hired Peterson Home Improvement for a new deck installation and new installation of sliding glass doors. The foreman, Joe, and his right hand guy Matt were very customer service oriented and made themselves available to make sure I was satisfied with the job along the way. Joe made sure to give me his cell phone number and said call or text anytime. I look forward to hiring them for the next job.

Ed and his crew are professional, local and skilled. They did the specialty wood siding on our entire new build. They were always in contact and were extremely helpful when we had questions. They cleaned up after themselves and I always felt comfortable around them. I would hire them again in a second. Thank you!
